Studio Ruben Castro
Ruben Castro (Belgium, 1990) graduated in 2014 from the University of Leuven in Gent with a cum laude degree in architecture. Since 2015 he has worked with Christian Kerez, Office Haratori in Zurich and Raamwerk in Gent, together with completing an artist residency at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht. His most recent years where spent in Haldenstein, Switzerland heading the model workshop at Atelier Peter Zumthor. He was awarded with Toegepast 20, Z33 in Hasselt and selected as a finalist for a prize for young architects by the Flemish Government Architect. He was holding teaching positions at EPFL Lausanne, Rotterdamse Academie van Bouwkunst and is currently teaching a design studio at Konkuk University Seoul. Former exhibitions of his work include: Z33, Hasselt; C-Mine, Genk; FoMu, Antwerp; DeSingel, Antwerp; Bureau Europe, Maastricht; Schunk *, Heerlen; MAD, Brussels. Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center, Seoul; Bündner Kunstmuseum, Chur. Recently he had a solo exhibition on display in The Flanders Architecture institute.
